Bayside is just east of Arcata, really only a few minutes from our shop. The community sits on the slopes above Humboldt Bay, with views back toward Arcata and the bay itself. We do a fair amount of work here and the short drive makes site visits painless.
Bayside's housing stock skews toward established single-family homes on larger lots, often with exposure to the coastal weather coming off the bay. Trees in the area mean there's always some risk of falling-branch damage to siding and roofs, we get called for repairs after storms regularly. Material selection here can be more flexible than on the immediate coast since the topography offers some shelter.
