Our approach

The window is half the job. The opening is the other half.

A great window installed into a poorly-prepared opening will leak. A solid mid-range window installed into a properly-flashed opening will outperform it. We spend most of our installation time on the parts of the job nobody sees: sill pans, flashing, weather barrier integration, and shimming for square.

Whether you're replacing a single failing window or doing a whole-house window package, the approach is the same, measure carefully, prep the opening properly, install square, and seal it correctly.

What's included

Every window installation project covers the full scope.

Pricing varies by project size and material, but the scope below is standard. We don't unbundle the parts that protect the house.

01

Site measurement

Measure twice. Document any rot or framing issues at the existing opening. Price repair work before ordering.

02

Product selection

Vinyl, fiberglass, or wood-clad, each has trade-offs in cost, longevity, and look. We'll help you pick based on your home and exposure.

03

Opening preparation

Strip existing window. Address any rot. Install a proper sill pan and integrate flashing into the existing weather barrier.

04

Precision install

Set square, shim correctly, fasten per manufacturer spec. Insulate around the frame without overpacking and bowing the jamb.

05

Trim & finish

Exterior trim integrated with the siding. Interior casing, sill, and finish work, or coordination with your finish carpenter.

06

Cleanup & operation check

Walk through every window with you, confirm smooth operation, and document the manufacturer warranty paperwork.

A whole-house window package where the work that mattered happened before any glass went in. We stripped each opening, addressed the rot we found, set proper sill pans, and tied new flashing into the existing weather barrier. Then the windows went in square and sealed. The finished windows look clean. The reason they will not leak is everything that happened at the opening first.

Common questions

Window Installation, answered.

Specific questions about your project? Send them our way.

Vinyl, fiberglass, or wood, which is best?
Each has trade-offs. Vinyl is most affordable and low-maintenance. Fiberglass is more durable and stable in temperature swings. Wood-clad gives you wood interior with a maintenance-free exterior. We'll walk through specifics for your home.
Do I need to replace all the windows at once?
No, but there are economies of scale. Doing the whole house in one project saves on labor and lets us source matching products. We're happy to phase it if that fits your budget better.
Should I replace windows and siding at the same time?
If both need replacing, yes. Doing them together lets us properly integrate flashing and trim, which prevents future leaks and saves on labor. If your siding is in good shape, we can install windows without disturbing it.
How energy efficient are modern windows?
Significantly more than what was installed 20+ years ago. Double-pane Low-E windows are the baseline now, with triple-pane available for cold climates. The energy savings on an old leaky house can be substantial.
